My cheap-flight strategy for 2007
I’ve got a three-prong strategy for finding the cheapest and best flight fares these days. It’s not complicated, but it takes a little effort.
- Bookmark your town’s low-fare list on Air Fare Watchdog. Check it weekly, and when you’re ready to book a flight check it daily. This site finds fares you’re unlikely to get anywhere else.
- If you don’t have an exact weekend in mind, use MIT’s flight-search engine. It scouts the cheapest fares for a flight route over an entire month’s worth of dates. Get the details here.
- If you haven’t found the fare already, go with Kayak. It’s more flexible on the search (and it’s faster) than Orbitz.

I recomend that stratagy as well. I also find that checking the newspapers is a good way.
Another stratagy is to find a couple of busy travel agents and look at the specicals they have on discount Airfares in their storefront windows works well for big cites like Bangkok LA Honolulu and London which are all hub sites exept for Honolulu in Hawaii which is a major torist location of Waikiki.
