Airline Travel Myths: Being on time, being glamorous, more…
NPR breaks down a bunch of modern air travel myths. Seems that today’s airplane passenger has a few too many rusty ideas about the way things oughta work. These are a few of my favorites:
- Nothing is more thrilling and glamorous than modern jet flight.
- When you purchase a ticket, you expect to travel to the city you’ve selected. This is no longer the case. To the airline, these destinations are suggestions. We call them “suggestinations.”
- Another misconception is that airplanes are supposed to take off and land at specific times. This adherence to schedules is a relic of our rich railroad heritage.
