Airplanes and Pets: A guide on how to do it

I don’t own a pet, but if I did this guide would be way useful. It breaks down in airline-by-airline detail the nuances of flying-with-pet rules and fees. It lists the steps necessary to get your pet out and in the airplane:

  1. Determine if your pet is able to travel
  2. Determine which airlines will allow your pet aboard
  3. Reserve a flight for yourself and your pet
  4. Find a traveling crate or carrier for your pet
  5. Prepare the crate for your pet
  6. Prepare your pet for the flight
  7. Bring your pet to the airport

And takeoff. Check out the how-to article here: How To Fly With Pets

And what about documentation from the vet? Is it necessary?

    I’ve found :)))
You must supply the following required documents:
    * A health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian issued within 10 days of originating travel, regardless of the pet’s age
    * A rabies certificate (for dogs only).

    Thanks! Very useful article!
