nothing too revolutionary, but the new numbered boarding groups program sucks. i am “fastidious” about getting into the A group, getting through security and getting to the gate well ahead of time. under the old system, this slightly OCD process puts me at the front of the line and in the best seat on the plane, left-side exit-row window. more leg room, no one stepping over you to go to the restroom.
with the new system, i have to be first to check-in online to get both A group and seat #1-5 which leaves a lot of room for error.

On Dec 20. 2008 our son flew from IAD(Washington DC) to PDX(Portland OR) we had extreme bad weather but when we left for the airport,an hour drive all indications were everything was fine. when we arrived the arrivals stated his flight was landing in 20 minutes. It then indicated he had landed and we went to baggage claim to meet him. we then received a call that he was in seattle not portland, the airline offered no apologies and told him you’re on your own. my husband and I then started driving from Portland to seattle a 200 mile trip that took 9 HOURS! we then spent the night in a motel spending our christmas money. Now today the 21st we have spent all day trying to get back home. I understand no one can control the weather and others are also being inconvienced. but southwest has basically shrugged their shoulders and said tuff luck.

Our post Christmas flight out of Midway on Southwest was canceled due to weather conditions. Once this happened we completely fell through the cracks. As far as Southwest was concerned, we were off the grid entirely. Our one day, direct flight turned into a three day layover nightmare.

I can’t believe the level of service from Southwest lately. They Suck. Not only are they joing the other airline bandwagons of screw the customer but I have been on hold for the past 45 minutes trying to get in touch with a customer service representative to resolve an issue. I had to renew credits and they sent me email with new LUV voucher information and it is NOT accepted. So here I am wasting my time because the airline that is screwing their customers can’t do a simple task right. The LUV for Southwest is quickly wearing off.

Lost luggage with brand new stuff in it with tags and extras. Total was $1145, sending me a check for $790, guess they need that extra 30% to keep going. Never fly anyother airlines but looking into it now. My luggage, 2 pieces was lost, even though I saw it come off plane in Indianapolis but never made it to Chcago. And that little mistake costs this consumer $355 dollars (plus my airfare). How cheap is that. I put this posting on Facebook and here, soon to follow any other website I can. Southwest, I know you don’t care but I am a little person fighting the uphill battle against big corporation. Best to tell everybody you know and then some. Thinking about putting a banner on my car and driving around Chicago with it. SOUTHWEST DOES NOT REIMBURSE YOU FOR ALL YOU “LOST” LUGGAGE. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP THE AIRLINES GOING……….

Please understand the risk of flying with this airline.
It took 25 minutes for baggage. Then miscommunication with gates switches with early flights out of BWI. If there is severe weather, they will bump you off a flight and have you play the “standby” game. When speaking to a supervisor, be careful because they change shifts and you won’t have your situation handled properly.
AVOID them at all costs.
