Our Frequently Asked Questions

How does Flight Club work?

Nutshell: we help travellers meet on airplanes and in airports. Specifically, this website provides the tools to help people meet who have similar travel flight itineraries, or similar destinations, or intersecting itineraries.

What's the point here?

Travelling can suck. It can be boring. You can be stuck in a town, alone, travelling for business. Flight Club aims to reduce that. We're a community of people who hang out together on airplanes, in airports, or help each other around town. Whether you fly once a year, twice a week, or more, Flight Club welcomes you.

Sure, but why would I want to join?

You find flying boring. New people intrigue you. You like adventure. These are all valid reasons. There are more: you're the friendly type. You want to be the friendly type. You're addicted to networking. You have a problem. Even more: it's free. It's free for you forever. You can say you were a Charter Member and someone somewhere might be impressed.

Do I automatically get to sit next to who I match with?

If you arrange travel with that person before hand with the Flight Club "Propose A Flight" feature, yes. Otherwise, that's a bit of logistics you must work out on your own. We've found that people on flights will usually give in to requests to switch seats so that you can be next to your new friend. Just ask politely. Or not. It's all your call.

Is it really free?

Yes it is, for now. However we may eventually empty our coffers, and be forced to ask club members for dough. We won't ask you, though. Charter members (that's you, when you join) are guaranteed a free ride on this ticket. Everybody else, well, we promise to be gentle.

What about international flights?

The major international airports are now available, and we're building our roster of worldwide airlines.

I wanna rock!

So do we ... so do we.
